CHAIR YOGA
Chair yoga has many benefits and removes one of the barriers to joining a yoga class - the worry of sitting on the floor!
A chair is the perfect prop for anyone who would benefit from a comfortable seated position - for breathing practise and meditation, as well as increasing joint mobility and flexibility. It can be practised at any age, various levels of fitness, in a number of circumstances, different environments and incorporated in daily life - including the workplace.
Chair yoga can be used by yoga teachers offering specialist classes, or incorporated into regular practice.
Our chair yoga workshop is suitable for anyone who would like to learn more and experience this gentle, effective practice. Yoga teachers and other professionals will also benefit from finding out how chair yoga can be incorporated into other therapies, offering clients the opportunity to relax and rediscover their mind and body in a comfortable supported position. All welcome!

Wendy Jacob
As a certified Restorative Yoga Teacher, with training in teaching meditation and experience working with the UK defence community, I am encouraged by the interest I receive in yoga. But, I am also saddened that many of the people I meet, find it difficult to access a suitable class. Misconceptions about yoga, range from 'is is only for the fit and flexible', to the belief that you need to be able to 'empty' the mind', making it difficult for those who might benefit the most, from seeking out skilled, compassionate teaching. This workshop aims at increasing understanding, changing attitudes and encouraging participation in yoga, accepting that yoga can and does change lives.
